Tasmin’s Crochet Creations is a small, South African business that was founded in 2010. We specialize in handmade crocheted items. Our products are crocheted with good-quality tools and materials. The majority of our products are crocheted with 100% Acrylic yarn. Each product is crocheted and designed with our customers in mind.
About Me
I am a passionate and determined young crochet designer and content creator, driven by creativity and a deep desire to learn. My hands are always in motion, constantly exploring new techniques and expanding my skills. The intricacies of machinery captivate and intrigue me, fueling my ambition to push boundaries.
I graduated high school in 2020, but the loss of my father at the end of that year reshaped my world. Despite the heartache, I persevered, earning my higher certificate in fashion design in 2022, and I am now pursuing a degree in fashion design to further ignite my creative journey.
I find beauty in the little things—sunflowers, stitches, hedgehogs, avocados, and, above all, crochet and hot chocolate. In 2021, I began sharing my craft on YouTube, and by 2023, my website was born—a testament to my dedication and growth.
I am blessed to be in a loving, long-term relationship with my high school partner. At home, I’m kept company by Jade, my three-year-old Madagascan Tenrec. Although she is tiny, she brings an immense amount of joy into my life.

My Crochet Journey
I began my crochet journey in 2010, at the age of 9, when the OT department at my school introduced us to this beautiful craft. My friends and I eagerly gathered there, excited to learn. For weeks, I struggled—my hands couldn’t seem to master the simple chain. One day, while walking down to the OT department, a friend told me, “Maybe you should just give up. You’ll never get it.” But deep down, I knew I had it in me. I could feel the breakthrough coming. I kept trying, failed again, but with relentless determination, after countless attempts, I finally succeeded. The joy I felt was indescribable—I had done it!
The school taught me how to chain, but it was my Gran, my Mom’s mother, who patiently showed me the double crochet stitch in US terminology. I made my first blanket—a far cry from perfection. The edges were uneven, my tension all over the place, but it was mine. And I had done it. From there, I turned to YouTube, where I found HappyBerry Crochet, a life-changing discovery that taught me everything I know today. Without Laura, my journey would have been so different.
And now, here I am—a YouTube channel, a website, and a passion turned into a creative outlet.
