About Me

I am a young crochet designer and content creator. I am a very hands on and creative person. I love learning new skills and new things. Machinery is something that really fascinates me and intrigues me. I matriculated from high school in 2020. I was in a close family of four, but my father sadly passed away at the end of 2020. I graduated with a higher certificate in fashion design in 2022, and I am currently studying further for a degree in fashion design. I love sunflowers, stitch, hedgehogs, avocados, and most of all, crochet and hot chocolate. I started my YouTube channel towards the end of 2021, and now in 2023 my website was published. I am in a long-term relationship with my high school partner. I have a Madagascan Tenrec (A different breed to the hedgehog family) Her name is Jade and she is two years old. She is still “a baby” as she does not grow any bigger than a baby hedgehog. So… That’s me!

My Crochet Journey

I started crochet in 2010 when I was 9 years old. The OT department in my school taught kids how to crochet.  Myself and my friends went to the OT department to learn how to crochet. I tried for weeks to crochet, but I just couldn’t get the hang of it. One day when walking down to the OT department, one of my friends said, “I should just give up, ’cause I’ll never be able to do it.” But I had a great feeling that I was going to get it. I tried to chain a handful of times but still wasn’t successful and eventually, after a few tries, I got it. I was so happy and chuffed.

The school taught me how to chain. I then went to my Gran, my Mom’s Mom, who taught me how to do the double crochet stitch in US terminology. I went on to make my first crochet blanket. It was not the best, if I might add. The edges were tapered, and my tension was loose in some areas and tight in others. But hey, I did it. I went on to learn crochet with the help of YouTube. I found HappyBerry Crochet, who taught me basically everything I know today. If it wasn’t for Luara I don’t know how I would’ve turned out in crochet.

And now here I am having started my own YouTube channel and created my own Website.

Never give up on your dreams. You will get there. I believe in you!
